Sunday Night Bait and Gank

Some of you may know what it's like to have a neutral in your home system. You may also know what it's like to have a neutral in your home, null-sec system, that hangs around all day cloaky. Well Sunday night we put an end to the little shit-eating griefer that was hanging around our system. We set up a good 'ol bait and gank trap.
Captain Crunnch had already taken out one of my fellow corpies' Noctis about six hours prior to me logging in for the evening. So when I logged on I asked about the neutral that was in system and was told the sad story about the aforementioned Noctis. I piped up and mentioned that I had a Noctis, and was wanting to help clean up the Sanctums our corp was doing. They told me to stick with the pack while I salvaged so I wouldn't become another statistic. So I did. Right up until the last corp member left the Sanctum and I realized I was all alone and probably being watched. I hit the warp button and was just getting into warp and leaving grid when I saw Captain Crunnch pop on my overview for a split second while I sped away. Now I'm thinking, wow, I just got really lucky on two points. One, I got away. Two, I now know that our plucky neighborhood neutral is still actively looking for easy kills to pad his e-crotch.
I relayed my latest intel to my gang and the plan started to unfold to catch this hapless ganker. We all went to the next Sanctum and started to clear it as I cleaned up the wrecks all the while. Now our plan was simple. Just do exactly what we did last time, only this time everyone would warp to the closest celestial object and align right back to the Sanctum. We had our CEO Aele Deckard bring in his snappy little Stilletto with a nice point on it. He was already waiting in the wings at the closest celestial. Nearing the end of the Sanctum a couple of random neuts came into system not affiliated with Captain Crunnch and we all played the scared Station hugger part really well by all warping to safes. Once the neut cleared out, everyone went to their spots and aligned to the Sanctum. I heard the orders to warp my Noctis into the wreckage and to start salvaging away like a dummy unknowing of the neut actively hunting me. Little does the hunter know, he has become the hunted. So there I am taking my sweet time clearing the wrecks when about two to three minutes later in swoops, you know who, in an Arazu. I yelp, and announce he is 10km off me and for everyone to warp to Zombieofice. Stilletto arrives on field just as the Arazu releases his drones and starts gnawing on my shields. Stilletto gets a lock and point and others start arriving on field. The Arazu lights a Covert Cyno at one point to apparently warp in either his buddies or the alt he has in system the we didn't know about. None of that really mattered in less than a minute tho as his pretty little Arazu went up in flames. His alt never showed up on field and I had already warped off to safety. We even popped the big tough guys pod too.
The moral of the story here kiddies is this. If you are looking for easy kills to help prop up you flaccid e-peen, do NOT come sniffing around Fatal Ascension territory or mess with Fly Drunk!

Zombieofice (bait)

Assault on random low-sec systems!

Just recently a friend of mine from work started playing Eve Online.  From the very first time I explained the PVP aspects and political intrigue parts of the game he was interested.  Now I've finally gotten him to put down some money for a subscription.  Being the guy who sold him on this fine ultimate sci-fi simulation, I feel obliged to get him into some of that PVP action he so desires.  He has told me several times he is ready to "prawn" someone.  He is frothing at the mouth and grinding the bit between his teeth so to speak.  Well if PVP is what he wants well PVP is what I shall have to deliver then, eh?
Where do I take a newb to PVP?  Low-sec?  Or should we dip our toes into the Ninja Salvaging pool of exploits?  What do you think?  Where can we find some willing participants to fight some newbs and not be overrun by an IT blob?  I think I am just going to take him to some random low-sec dive.  Hmmmm, how do I find a seedy, no-good, part of the universe.  I tried Carrou, but met my demise in my wolf to some Tea and Sympathy fellas.  Took out a rifter that had me scrambled and webbed but could not fend off his fellow tea drinkers.  Oh well, 1v1's are not to be found in EVE.  Those of you out there looking for them are S.O.L.  If you wanna win a fight in EVE, bring more people than they have.  It's that simple my fellow pilots.  He who has the biggest numbers wins everytime.  Within reason.

That is all,

+5 implants.......I want 'em!

From what I can tell they are definitely worth it. You get a slight edge on your opponents by acquiring skills faster. What do you think? Is it worth having those pricey implants in your fleshy head while your ship is being torn apart around you? Should you just keep a training +5 jump clone tucked away for those low risk times? I think I am gonna start putting together a set to put in my high-sec Jita clone.
Let me know what you players out there think. I wanna know if there are any tricks or tips out there I haven't heard of yet. Oh, and send me some isk to get started buying them too! Lol.

Pirates, are you making any isk?

In my last post I mentioned that my friends from work started playing the game for the first time about a week and a half ago. CodeClone is making his way to a null-sec capable BC for ratting. TimeVise is heading towards being an FC in the distant future and a fleet booster with a Command Ship. Lastly, StaticKill is wanting to be a "dick". He wants to be a pirate of the worst sorts. Plundering and pillaging to his hearts content. Stealing from the rich and giving a hard time to the poor as it were. He is currently in search of a ruthless pirating corp to earn his stripes with and learn the ropes. If any of you out there have any suggestions I'm sure he would appreciate any eve-mails about possible recruitment. That being said, he is currently training for an interceptor for tackling hapless carebears in low-sec. I suggested that he leave his Gallente ship skills where they are for now and cross train into Minmatar. Let me know what you people of New Eden think about that suggestion.

Noctis, Wednesday Patch, and friends from work........

Thought I would drop a line to all my readers out there!  All of ya!  I mean nobody lol.  So far this blog is more like a diary really.  I can go back and see where I've been throughout my EVE career.  That being said, onto the topic for today.
Let's start with the Noctis.  Oh man what a fine ship she is!  A salvager's dream come true really.  I also think it has converted a lot of you wreck leavers out there I think.  I tried it out on a Haven today and cleared the room in a little under ten minutes.  This puppy gets the job done FAST!  Well worth the isk (currently going for around fifty million isk in Jita).
No onto the patch about the removal of learning skills in EVE.  I have roughly 800k worth of learning skill points to allocate elsewhere.  I've thought about it and upon discussing it with my CEO Aele Deckard and my buddy from work PapaV, I think all those points are going into Minmatar Cruiser V.  I mean, shit, there are so many cool ships out there that require a respective race's cruiser skill level to be at V.  So this one to me was a no-brainer really.  I WANT TO FLY A "LOKI" SOMETIME SOON!!!! If anyone has a collection of LOKI fits out there and their respective roles, send them in-game to Zombieofice pls and thank you.
Last but certainly not least are the three new guys PapaV and I recruited into the game recently.  Those characters are CodeClone, StaticKill, and TimeVise.  If you see them in-game, give a few hot rounds to the side of their hull as a welcome to the cruel bitch that is EVE.

Over and out,

Salvaging in Null-Sec

There is one rule that has to be abided by. If you are in a site or belt, salvaging wrecks, and a neutral or red comes in, you should immediately warp to a safe spot or preferably your POS. The only exception is if you are being watched over by fleet members. No ifs, ands, or buts. You will be popped. I tested this theory several times now myself and have witnessed several other examples with my own eyes. The neutral or red will find you quickly if they know how to use the onboard scanner with any efficiency at all.
